Following a survey among their members, the Austrian platform of development NGOs, Globale Verantwortung, will start a reflection and discussion process on CSO development effectiveness in Austria. A kick-off event will be held on 26 November in Vienna.
The survey showed that there is a big need within NGOs to reflect upon their own practices. Issues raised by survey participants included:
- The need to develop a "culture of learning from past mistakes"
- Overcoming the donor-recipient relationship
- Making the often intangible resuls of development interventions more visible to the outside world
