Following the communication from the European Commission dated September 2011, the final Council conclusions on the EU Common Position for the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, paragraph 49, calls on civil society organizations and local authorities from donor and partner countries to continue their ongoing efforts to enhance accountability, transparency and integrity of their operations based on self-regulatory mechanisms such as the Istanbul CSO development effectiveness principles .
Open Forum welcomes the acknowledgement of the Istanbul Principles by the European Union and looks forward to more government and institutional bodies supporting the Principles and the International Framework for CSO Development Effectiveness of which they are an integral part.
