Open Forum is enthusiastic to announce the launch of the 2 TOOLKITS accompanying the

International Framework for CSO Development Effectiveness!

The Implementation Toolkit and the Advocacy Toolkit are available as of now to all NGOs, grassroots organizations and other people’s groups wishing to put the International Framework into practice in their own organizational realities and local contexts:

IMPLEMENTATION TOOLKIT

English, French, Spanish

ADVOCACY TOOLKIT

English, French, Spanish

The Implementation Toolkit provides guidance and concrete examples on the guidelines, mechanisms and indicators that CSOs might use to put the Istanbul Principles for CSO Development Effectiveness (International Framework Section II) into practice in their local realities.

The Advocacy Toolkit provides tips and advice from fellow CSOs on advocating for a more favorable context for civil society in their own country or region and complements recommendations on minimum standards for an enabling environment for CSOs (International Framework Section IV).

BACKGROUND

Following the agreement of the International Framework for CSO Development Effectiveness by CSOs at the 2nd Global Assembly of the Open Forum and its official acknowledgement also by governments and donors in the Busan Partnership, the Toolkit launch is another key event for civil society organizations worldwide in their development work.

Indeed, the 2 Toolkits accompanying the global civil society statement on its role in development (the International Framework) will be instrumental to bring CSO mutual conclusions and commitments to life and realize civil society’s vision of development. We invite you to use and disseminate them widely.
