The civil society analysis of the Busan Partnership becomes available just 1 day prior to the 2nd meeting of the multi-stakeholder body tasked to define the new global development governance and monitoring post Busan, known as the Post Busan Interim Group (PBIG), where civil society is represented by BetterAid co-chairs Antonio Tujan and Mayra Moro-Coco.
The 2nd PBIG meeting is taking place on Wednesday the 4th of April and Thursday the 5th of April in Paris, France. Whereas the 1st PBIG meeting in February 2012 set the ground for the consensus building - to be completed by June 2012 - the objectives of the 2nd meeting are to agree on:
- The broad concept for the governance structure of the global partnership;
- The overall approach for global monitoring;
- An initial shortlist of Busan commitments that should be translated into concrete proposals for global indicators and targets for discussion at the next meeting
