Open Forum is proud to share the update from the official launch of the International Framework for CSO Development Effectiveness, which was a great success marked by:

Endorsement of the International Framework by the government of South Korea represented by spokesperson for Ms. Enna Park, Chair of Core Group for the 4th High Level Forum:

  • (South Korean) government endorses the Istanbul CSO Effectiveness Principles and acknowledges the International Framework for CSO Development Effectiveness ”.
  • we “ invite other governments to endorse the Istanbul CSO Effectiveness Principles and support various CSO initiatives to improve aid and development effectiveness ”.

Intervention and memorable statetements from Brian Atwood, OECD-DAC Chair:

  • government cannot be effective without civil society, and civil society cannot be effective without effective government ”.
  • we have to make sure that synergy between governments and civil society organizations is established in the mind of those who care deeply about development ”.

The International Framework launch took place in conjunction with the final Working Party on Aid Effectiveness Meeting prior to the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, 29 November - 1 December in Busan, South Korea.

The International Framework is an integral part of the CSO Key Messages and Asks at the 4th High Level Forum under point C.
